Home Buyer Pre-Purchase Site Evaluation

Having the landscaping evaluated prior to purchase, just like having the home itself inspected, is a wise investment that can save you time and money.

Trees can add to or diminish the value of your property.

Our certified arborist can either help you close on the property with confidence, or negotiate a lower asking price by becoming aware of existing detrimental conditions. You may even want to request that some items be remedied by the seller before closing.

What condition are the trees on your property in?  Find out before you buy!

You wouldn’t dream of buying a home without an official home inspection, or a used car without a qualified mechanic, right?  Don’t forget about having your trees inspected before you buy!

A tree risk assessment to appraise tree root health or obtaining fertilization and inoculation treatments to increase tree vitality and vigor are services available to homeowners.

Do I need to have the trees evaluated before building on my own lot?

Absolutely!  Our certified arborist can help you determine optimal location of the home due to tree placement, which trees will be best to preserve, structure impediments to keep in mind when planting trees, and construction pitfalls to avoid to ensure tree root health.

Trees should be trimmed at least 4 feet away from the roof to avoid structural damage and discourage rodent access. Here is an example of a tree that should be pruned because of the branches’ proximity

to the house.

Proximity to the House

Soil compaction from pedestrian traffic, heavy machinery, or construction supplies being stored under trees can have unwelcome consequences for your tree.

Compacted Soil

Trees that are enclosed by driveways or sidewalks can

impede the root system or damage the enclosures, causing safety hazards and reducing property value.
